About NMDC
We believe that everyone should have access to high-quality healthcare. That goal begins with knowledgeable and trained healthcare professionals, including nurses and midwives.
The Nursing & Midwifery Development Centre (NMDC) is a non-governmental organization that focuses on the advancement of the nursing and midwifery professions and improvement of healthcare in the region and beyond. It is based in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and is registered with the Department of NGOs of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
Vision
The vision of the NMDC is to become a progressive and dynamic hub of professional nursing, midwifery, and healthcare education, development, research, and advocacy in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
Mission & Values
The NMDC mission is to become a recognized and accredited provider of continuing education and professional development for nurses, midwives, and other healthcare providers and to organize initiatives, activities, and events for the development of nursing, midwifery, and other health-related professions. NMDC undertakes research for improvement of health and healthcare. It provides advisory, informational, and consultancy services and advocates for all healthcare providers and users of health services in the region.
We support individuals and organizations from the region, country, and abroad who want to improve access, safety, and quality of healthcare for all, and cooperate with those who take action for the common good.
